About this experience

The advanced colorwork class is for those who have mastered the basics of stranded colorwork and want an extra challenge! We will be knitting the Deathflake Hat by Becky Audette. We will be using size 2 and size 4 needles (either 16" or magic loop), and Kingston Tweed. Two skeins of Kingston Tweed are included with the class price. This class will meet once a week from 1-3 on Saturdays starting 9/23.


Students must have taken our Intro to Colorwork class, or be very confident with the following skills:



  • Knitting in the round

  • Knitting stranded colorwork 

  • Reading colorwork charts 

  • Catching floats


In this 5 week course, students will hone their colorwork skills, learn to read a more complicated colorwork chart, learn magic loop, and learn to adapt a pattern by knitting a gauge swatch.
