The proper approach to needle felting requires the right tools for the job, and that means different felting needles in different sizes. This four-count pack provides the most commonly used gauges of felting needles, each with a long shank and narrow shaft with exceptionally sharp tip. These needles have notched barbs on each side near the shaft bottom, used to interlock the wool fibers together.
This process involves locking different fibers of wool together to create the composite fabric known as felt. This material is condensed, soft, and sturdy. When wool fibers are rubbed together, their scales lock, but getting them to secure properly requires the right needles.
